CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Two men died early Saturday after the car in which they were riding went off the road and struck a tree off Sollenberger Road in Hamilton Township, Pa., according to a Pennsylvania State Police press release.
The driver, Jason S. Lightner, 32, of Chambersburg, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 2:40 a.m. accident by Franklin County Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner.
The passenger, Michael J. Jackson, 32, also of Chambersburg, was pronounced dead at Chambersburg Hospital shortly after the accident, according to a press release from Conner's office.
The accident occurred on Sollenberger Road just north of Brechbill Road when the 2003 Audi A4 that Lightner was driving failed to negotiate a left turn, traveled off the west side of the road and struck a tree, police said.
