West Side Church donated funds needed to make a movie screen on the Memorial Recreation Center building.

With Ken Hose leading the construction and volunteers from the community helping, the screen was built and hung April 17.

Phase I is now completed, and the organizers are in need of additional help to make the entertainment last through the summer months.

The first movie will be shown on the parking lot of the MRC free to the community.

Raymond Young, pastor at West Side Church, will sponsor the first movie night Saturday, June 19, at 8 p.m.

In order to continue showing movies, the organizers are looking for churches and organizations who are interested in sponsoring the cost of a movie night for each movie shown. Sponsors are also sought to contribute to the cost of a projector.

If you are interested in sponsoring a movie night or would like to contribute to the cost of the projector, contact Loretta Wright, rec center director, at 301-790-0203 or Serena Bell at 301-633-4117.
