Milestone celebrated

On April 18, Ebenezer AME Church honored Arnetta Doleman for her 89th birthday after the morning worship service.

Mrs. Doleman was not only blessed with the love of her family, friends and the Ebenezer Church family, but she received an extra blessing from her son, Anthony Doleman, who sang, "Only a Look" during the service.

And of course, you can't have a birthday without singing the birthday song, and the congregation did just that.

Pastor reappointed

On April 25, Ebenezer AME Church welcomed back its pastor, the Rev. Leroy Jackson, for his 29th year.

This year, the annual conference was held in Glen Dale, Md., from April 20 to 24 and the Rev. Jackson was reappointed as pastor of the church.

In addition, Dr. Joseph Chandler Jr. was ordained itinerate deacon, and after two more years of studies, he will be ordained itinerate elder.

Chandler delivered the morning message with a sermon titled, "Is Your Salvation through Conviction or Legislation?"

Aaron Brooks

Youth wrestler Aaron Brooks maintained his winning streak this past weekend, winning his second Ohio Tournament of Champions title.

He gave up only two points in four matches.

He and his family are traveling to Salisbury, Md., for the MAWA National Championships today.
