The cool weather didn't affect North Hagerstown's hot bats Wednesday, as the Hubs clubbed the Boonsboro Warriors 15-5 in an MVAL Antietam game halted by the 10-run rule after six innings.

The Hubs led the entire game as they started off with two runs in the first, spaekd by a leadoff homer from Charles Cvijanovich. North added three runs in the second and four runs in the fourth for a 9-0 lead.

Thomas Allen had three hits and four RBIs, including the game-ending two-run double in the bottom of the sixth for North (10-4, 7-3). Aaron Stottlemyer reached base in all five plate appearances, had two hits and scored five runs.

Cvijanovich and winning pitcher Aaron Stoner each had two hits and three RBIs, Andrew Yacyk had two hits and two RBIs and Ty Benson added two RBIs.

"We came out and got a good performance from the whole team," North coach Steve Myers said. "We didn't leave guys stranded. We got hits when we needed them."

The Warriors (2-13, 1-9) scored all five of their runs in the top of the fifth, cutting the margin to 9-5. Rodney Flora, who finished with two hits, had a two-run triple to highlight the inning.

But the Hubs responded with three runs in the bottom of the fifth and three more in the sixth to close the game.

"We're doing what we can," Boonsboro coach Ben Leonard said. "We have got a young team. About 60 percent of our team is sophomores and freshmen. We are eventually going to get better."
