Dinner, auction to benefit day camp
A spaghetti dinner and silent auction to benefit Keedysville Day Camp will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church in Keedysville. Tickets cost $7 for adults and $4 for those ages 3 to 10. Those younger than 3 eat free.
The meal includes all the spaghetti you can eat, garlic bread, salad, drink and dessert.
The Keedysville Christian Day Camp will be July 26 to 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Taylor Park for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. For more information, call Pastor Darrell Layman at 301-432-6296.
Sharpsburg Lions plan busy month
The Sharpsburg Lions will begin a busy month with a regular meeting Thursday, May 6, followed by five charter night celebrations during the month.
The second regular meeting will be Thursday, May 20, with a yard sale and highway cleanup planned May 21.
As always, the Lions will sell hot dogs at their stand during the Sharpsburg Memorial Day parade, Saturday, May 29.
The club meets the first and third Thursdays at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 209 W. Main St. in Sharpsburg.
Stevens to speak at senior site
Helen Stevens (formerly House) will speak on "Stroke Awareness" and conduct exercises Tuesday, May 4, at the senior site on Mount Vernon Drive in Keedysville. Young at Heart exercises will continue Wednesday. For more information, call Martha Drennen at 301-432-5624.
