MYERSVILLE, Md. - Madeline "Maddy" Maranda Bacorn, age 4, of Myersville, passed away at Children's Medical Center in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, April 24, 2010. On this day, she lost her battle with leukemia.

Madeline was born Jan. 18, 2006, in Frederick, Md., to Jack and Leyenda Bacorn of Myersville.

From the beginning, we knew that Madeline was a special spirit of our Heavenly Father. She truly understood the true love of Christ and had the ability to bring out the best in everyone she met. She was always the first to give a hug to anyone in need of one, whether they knew it or not. Maddy had the God-given talent to melt the hearts of everyone she met with her smile, laughter, funny facial expressions and happy spirit.

Maddy loved to play with her brothers, sister, cousins and puppy (Molly Dog). She loved to watch "Curious George," to be read books, paint and draw, play dress-up, swing, play ring around the rosy, and most of all to give hugs and cuddles.

Madeline attended Middletown Primary School, and was a happy and pleasant student. She loved to ride the bus to and from school.

She is survived by her parents, Jack and Leyenda Bacorn; three siblings, Mickayla, 9, Zachariah "Zack," 7, and Zander, 5; her grandparents, Judith Malone of Brunswick, Md., and Ellinda and James M. Jarvis of Montreal, Canada; her Aunt Jodi Bacorn, and cousins Dakota and Chayanne of Brunswick; her Aunt Rachel and Uncle Mark Kasminoff and cousins, Victoria, Vanessa and Brandon of Las Vegas, Nev.; her Uncle James P. Jarvis of San Francisco, Calif.; and her basset hound, Molly. She has joined her grandfather, Tim Bacorn, and Uncle Matthew Jarvis in Heaven.

Madeline touched the lives of many people and will be dearly missed. She was her daddy's little princess, and she will be treasured forever in the hearts of her family and friends.

The family wishes to celebrate her memory at a viewing Wednesday, April 28, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Her funeral will be held Thursday, April 29, at 2 p.m. The viewing and funeral will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 199 North Place, Frederick, MD 21701.
