HANCOCK - Perry Clarence Johnson, age 55, of Orchard Ridge Road, died Sunday, April 25, 2010, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born May 26, 1954, in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of Carson Johnson Sr. of Hancock and the late Virginia M. Smith Johnson.

He was a 1971 graduate of Hancock High School.

He was a member of Webster B. Harrison Post No. 26 American Legion, Hancock.

He was a retired truck driver for Food Lion and he loved the outdoors.

Besides his father, he is survived by two daughters, Bridgette Nicole McNairn and Michelle Lynn Priebe, both of Hagerstown, Md.; four sisters, Madeline McHoul of Hancock, JoAnn DesJardin of California, Joy Yell of Danville, Va., and Carolyn Witt of Easton, Md.; two brothers, Kenneth Johnson and Carson "Buck" Johnson Jr., both of Hancock; two grandchildren, Christopher McNairn and Abigale McNairn; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service will be held Thursday, April 29, 2010, at 11 a.m. at tStone Bridge Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Harry Strite and the Rev. Paul Martin will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, and at the church Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
