On Feb. 2, 1935, in Lewistown, Pa., she married her late husband, Eugene Dale Bowser, who was called home to the Lord on Dec. 4, 1952.

She was employed as a seamstress for more than 22 years at the former Waynesboro Manufacturing Co., retiring in January 1983. She then went to work for the Green Thumb, where she particularly enjoyed assignments that allowed her to interact with children. She eventually stopped working at age 80.

She was a member of Church of the Nazarene in St. Clairsville, Pa.

She is survived by two sons, Joseph L. Bowser and his wife, Marian, of Leonardtown, Md., and Byron Richard Bowser and his wife, Doreen, of Waynesboro, Pa.; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Bowser; two infant sons, William and Kenneth Bowser; six sisters, Clara E. Morgan, Margaret Fnk, Lavene Bowser, Mary Baughman, Eileen Sandefur and Elsie Hamm; and three brothers, William, Leonard and Pete Hamm.

Since June 2006, she enjoyed her rocking chair on the front porch of her home in Leonardtown, but her heart never left the mountains of Pennsylvania.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 30, 2010, at 9 a.m. at Lochstampfor Funeral Home Inc., corners of South Church and West Second streets, Waynesboro. The Rev. Roger D. Cales will officiate.
