Case against man charged with multiple felonies goes to circuit court

A Hancock man who was charged after drugs, money and weapons were found in a Lindsay Lane home off Pennsylvania Avenue on March 29 waived his preliminary hearing Tuesday in Washington District Court, according to a Maryland State's Attorney spokeswoman.

The case against Derick C. Wollaston, 22, will be transferred to Washington County Circuit Court, the spokeswoman said.

Wollaston lived in the Lindsay Lane home but also gave an address of 4219 Resley Road, Hancock. He was charged with two counts of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, two counts of possession of marijuana, three counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and four counts of possession of paraphernalia, according to Washington County District Court records.

Wollaston also is charged with maintaining a common nuisance for illegally manufacturing a controlled dangerous substance, manufacturing of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of a firearm in relation to a drug-trafficking crime, court records show.

Thirty-five pounds of marijuana, cocaine, OxyContin, a large amount of currency, four handguns and an AR-15 assault rifle with several hundred rounds of ammunition were found at 1137 Lindsay Lane, court records show.
