Three Hagerstown Community College students recently were awarded academic scholarships for the spring semester.

Kimberly Boley of Chambersburg, Pa., received the Larry E. Small Memorial Law Enforcement Scholarship.

Recipients of the Larry Small Scholarship must demonstrate outstanding leadership, be active members of the 5-14 Club, be involved in extracurricular activities and have an above-average academic record at HCC. Boley is an administration of justice major and plans to become a police officer or deputy sheriff.

Fellow HCC students Katrina Needy of Hagerstown and Emily Myers of Williamsport received scholarships from the Maryland Law Enforcement Officers Scholarship.

The scholarship is awarded by a faculty representative from the Department of Administration of Justice to those eligible students working toward an associate of applied science degree in the administration of justice field.

Needy is a computer forensics major and plans to complete her internship before pursuing a career in computer crime investigation.

Myers is an administration of justice major and plans to continue her education at James Madison University or Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she will major in criminal justice.
