April 25, 2010

HAGERSTOWN -- Delmarva scored six runs in the third and held the Hagerstown Suns at bay on Saturday for a 9-3 victory at Municipal Stadium.

The Shorebirds' rally was highlighted by a three-run double by Tyler Stampone for a 6-1 lead against Suns starter Josh Smoker.

Hagerstown (8-9) rallied to get within 6-3 in the bottom of the inning, on an RBI double by Sean Nicol and run-scoring single by Justin Bloxom, but it was as close as the Suns would get.

Delmarva(10-7) added single runs in the fifth, seventh and eighth innings to seal the victory.

Smoker fell to 0-3 after getting tagged with six runs in 2 2/3 innings.

Bloxom had three hits and two RBIs for the Suns.
