Mrs. Gladys L. (Paden) Foreman, 93

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Mrs. Gladys L. (Paden) Foreman, 93, a resident of Shook Home, Chambersburg, Pa., and formerly of 122 Harrison Avenue, Waynesboro, Pa., passed away at 6:31 a.m., Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at the nursing home.

Born Nov. 5, 1916, in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Orie A. and Hattie Virginia (Hacker) Paden.

She and her husband, the late Mr. Carl F. "Tom" Foreman, were married June 15, 1940, in Winchester, Va. They moved to their Harrison Avenue address in 1964. He died Dec. 13, 1992. She moved to The Quarters at Shook Home in 2007.

Mrs. Foreman was a homemaker and had worked part time at the Record Herald, Waynesboro, as an inserter.

She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and South Chapter AARP No. 2977, both of Waynesboro, and National AARP.

Mrs. Foreman enjoyed gardening, flowers and crocheting.

She is survived by two sons, Richard C. Foreman and his wife Phyllis of Chambersburg, and Michael F. Foreman and his wife Trudy of Waynesboro; two grandsons, Richard B. Foreman of Lewes, Del., and Matthew B. Foreman of Greencastle, Pa.; two step-granddaughters; several great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Foreman, who died Aug. 5, 1991; one sister, Naomi Hause; and two brothers, Harold Paden and Robert Paden.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Pastor Mark Shover and Pastor John Rauch officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
