Spring Craft Bazaar

The Arc of Washington County's Florida Avenue Vocational Day Program will hold its annual spring craft bazaar Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Vocational Day Program, 840 Florida Ave. in Hagerstown.

The bazaar will feature fresh plants and flowers, homemade bread and baked goods, country style needle crafts and gifts. Also featured will be raffles for baskets and packages, including a gardener's basket. In addition, a limited edition hardback book about Jimmie Johnson and the Lowe's Racing Team will be raffled off.

All money raised from the bazaar will go toward activities for the individuals in the day program.

Spring craft show

The fourth annual spring craft show will be Saturday and Sunday at the Clarion Hotel at Hager Hall Conference and Event Center. The show will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.


The show is sponsored by the Kris Kringle Christmas Show and many of the same vendors will be at this show.

Door prizes will be awarded during the event.

Admission is free with the donation of a non-perishable food donation. Proceeds and food items will go to Holly Place in Hagerstown.

The organizers are reaching out to local high school students in the community in need of service learning hours. Volunteers are needed Friday from 3 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, starting at 6 a.m. and Sunday.

Remembrance service set for Brandenburg

On Tuesday, April 27, at 2 p.m., a remembrance service will be held for Hugh Brandenburg at Western Maryland Hospital Center in the first-floor auditorium.

He died April 12 at Western Maryland Hospital Center.

Brandenburg was a 30-year volunteer member of the Western Maryland Hospital Center Auxiliary.

The community is invited to attend.
