WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Mr. Richard M. "Tuck" Scott, 87, of 12437 Scott Road, Waynesboro, Pa., went to be with the Lord at 4:15 a.m. Sunday, April 11, 2010, at Waynesboro Hospital.

He was born March 3, 1923, in Zullinger, Pa. He was the son of the late Omar H. and Nancy S. (Kahl) Scott. He lived all his life on the family farm.

Mr. Scott graduated from Washington Township High School with the class of 1941.

Tuck farmed all his life on the family farm. He retired from farming following an accident on the farm in 2002. In September 2006, Mr. Scott became the first in Franklin County to convey his land development rights for the price of $1 to the Franklin County Agricultural Land Preservation Program.

He was a life member of Salem Church, Waynesboro, where he sang in the church choir. He also was a member of the Franklin County Farm Bureau.


He is survived by four sisters, Grace Izer of Chambersburg, Pa., Esther Lengal of Las Cruces, N.M., Doris Alexander of Waynesboro, and Eleanor Paxson of Hagerstown, Md.; two brothers, Robert Scott of Zullinger and Roy Scott of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Maxwell Scott, Harlen Scott, Donald Scott, Raymond E. Scott and Carl Scott.

Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2010, at Salem Church, 4881 Salem Church Road, Waynesboro, with Pastor Lin Smalec officiating. Burial will be before the service at 1:30 p.m. in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

Family will receive friends following the services in the social hall of the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem Church, 4881 Salem Church Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
