BlueClaws crack Suns on late hit

LAKEWOOD, N.J. -- Jonathan Villar singled with two outs in the 11th inning on Tuesday to give the Lakewood BlueClaws a 4-3 victory over the Hagerstown Suns.

It was the second straight extra-inning loss for the Suns.

Adam Buschini had a one-out single against Suns reliever Dean Weaver and stole second base to set up Villar's game-winning hit.

The Suns tied the game with runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings.

In the seventh, J.P. Ramirez walked, Marcus Jones singled and Sandy Leon reached when Lakewood second baseman Jeremy Barnes misplayed his sacrifice bunt to load the bases. The run scored on Eury Perez's double play.

Stephen Souza and Leon drove in Hagerstown's other two runs.

Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Joe Blanton got the start for the BlueClaws as part of an injury rehab assignment. He pitched two scoreless innings and struck out two.
