Cascade Elementary to hold spring program



On Friday, April 29, Cascade Elementary School will hold its spring program for grades one and two, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The program is under the direction of music teacher Mrs. Osborne.

This year's production theme is "Dinostars!," a musical variety show.

Students must arrive no later than 6:10 p.m.

Yard sale, silent auction planned at church



Bethel United Methodist Church will hold a yard sale, silent auction and bazaar at its Family Life Center Saturday, May 8, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will be held rain or shine.

Auction items include quilts, artwork, R. Bruce Carson pendant, Next Dimensions gift certificate, Sagittarius Salon & Spa gift certificate, Hagerstown Suns package, Black Rock golf package, Cavetown Home Center tool box, Carol & Co. Vera Bradley items, Pampered Chef, Longaberger, Boyds Bears and more.

Baked goods, soups and sandwiches will also be available for purchase.

Crafts, household items, holiday items, clothing, toys, games, tools, electronics, furniture, books/DVDs and other items will be for sale.

To rent a space for $15, call the church office at 301-733-8387.

Proceeds will go to the church's outreach programs.

The church is at 21006 Twin Springs Drive in Smithsburg.

Spaghetti dinner set for Saturday



Cavetown United Church of Christ will hold a spaghetti dinner Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m.

The menu includes spaghett, garlic bread, salad, drink and dessert.

Tickets cost $7 for adults and $5 for those ages 6 to 12. Those 6 and younger eat free.

The church is on Church Road in Cavetown.

Spaghetti dinner



The North American Rod and Gun Club Ladies Auxilliary will hold a spaghetti dinner and silent auction Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m.

Proceeds will go the Alivia Koontz Fund.

The club is at 12108 Belvedere Road in Hagerstown.

The menu includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, bread, beer and soda. Tickets cost $10 for those ages 13 and older, and $5 for those ages 4 to 12.

'Zombie Prom' on stage this weekend



Robinwood Players will present "Zombie Prom" Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Hagerstown Community College.

Show times are 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday.

General admission is $7 but HCC students, staff and faculty can attend for free with a valid ID. Tickets are available at the door but can also be purchased in advance at the HCC Bookstore by calling 301-790-2800, ext. 271.
