SALISBURY, Md. -- Steven Souza homered twice, J.P. Ramirez had four hits and four RBIs, and the Hagerstown Suns blew out the Delmarva Shorebirds 15-2 on Friday.
The Suns (4-5) took a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Ramirez hit a one-out double, went to third on Marcus Jones' groundout to third and scored on Brett Newsome's single.
Hagerstown added three runs in the third for a 4-0 lead. Jeff Kobernus singled and scored on Francisco Soriano's triple to right. Soriano scored when Justin Bloxom reached on a fielder's choice. Bloxom was thrown out trying to steal second, before Destin Hood singled and scored on Ramirez's second double of the game.
The Suns made it 5-0 in the fifth. Bloxom tripled to center and scored on Ramirez's two-out single.
Hagerstown busted the game open with a five-run sixth for a 10-1 lead. Newsome was hit by a pitch, Sandy Leon doubled, Soriano hit an RBI single and Souza launched a three-run homer. Bloxom singled and came around to score on Hood's sac fly.
