WILLIAMSPORT - Paul Kerr James, 84, of Williamsport, Md., died Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at Julia Manor Nursing Home, Hagerstown, Md.

Born June 22, 1925, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of the late Francis Watkins and Hannah Ruth Mentzer James.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emilie J. James, on July 9, 2003. She will be interred with Paul on Friday, April 30, 2010, at 10 a.m.

He was a master sergeant with the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean and Vietnam wars, until retiring in 1977.

He was of the Catholic faith.

He was a member of Potomac Post 202 American Legion, Williamsport, Md.; NRA; a staunch conservative; and supported the Republican National Committee.


Survivors include sister, A. Marie James of Williamsport, Md.; brother, John R. James and his wife Marion P. of Williamsport, Md.; brother, Alfred S. James of Hagerstown, Md.; brother, Francis C. James and his wife Reba of Goldsboro, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one sister, Ella Mae Shain.

Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport, Md., on Friday, April 30, 2010, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Father Stephen Hook officiating. Military honors will be provided by AMVETS Post 10 and Marine Corps League of Hagerstown, Md.
