Yard Sale Extravaganza slated for May 1

WILLIAMSPORT -- The third annual Yard Sale Extravaganza to benefit the Williamsport Blue Band will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 1, near the Williamsport High School football field. The event will be held rain or shine, and will include a yard sale, bake sale and concessions.

Donations of yard sale items are still being accepted. Children's clothes for sizes infant to 6X will be accepted, but large electronics such as TVs and computers will not.

Infantry drill scheduled for May 1 and 2

WILLIAMSPORT -- The 8th Maryland Regiment Volunteer Infantry Company A, "The Men of the Old Line," will drill May 1 and 2 at Springfield Farm during the Washington County Museum Ramble.

May 1: Unit drills from 10:30 to 11 a.m.; unit firing drills from 2 to 2:30 p.m.; Civil War history talks in the barn from 3 to 3:30 p.m.

May 2: Unit drill from 10 to 11 a.m.; unit firing drill from 1 to 1:30 p.m.; camp closes at 2 p.m.

Classic car show May 8 at Byron Memorial Park

WILLIAMSPORT -- The fourth annual Williamsport Town Employees' Classic Car Show will be Saturday, May 8, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Byron Memorial Park.

A cruise-in and 1950s dance will be held later in the day.

The car show will feature hundreds of classic cars, trucks, motorcycles, custom compacts and street rods. Entry fee per car is $10. The rain date is Sunday, May 9.

Awards will be presented at 3 p.m. The event will also include food, music, door prizes and 50/50 raffles.

The cruise-in starts at 6 p.m. in parking lot 3; enter by Springfield Lane. Entry fee is $2.
