Hagerstown woman, 84, hit by pickup truck

An 84-year-old Hagerstown woman was expected to be transferred to University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore on Sunday afternoon after being hit by a pickup truck earlier in the day, Hagerstown Police said.

Yasuko Hanioka was hit by a Toyota pickup in front of the Alexander House around 10 a.m. Sunday, according to Washington County Emergency Services and Hagerstown Police. The Alexander House is at 7 E. Washington St. in downtown Hagerstown.

She was taken to Washington County Hospital, but was to be transported via ambulance to Shock Trauma, Hagerstown Police Sgt. Eric Knode said.

The incident is under investigation.
