WASHINGTON COUNTY -- A public hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday on proposed Washington County water and sewer rate increases.
The proposed increases would cost the average residential water user $4.50 more per quarter and the average residential sewer user $4.90 more per quarter next fiscal year.
The proposed increases were determined using a rate model that accounts for projected usage changes and budgetary needs, county Environmental Management Director Julie Pippel said.
That model showed the county needed to increase its water and sewer fund revenues by 4 percent each year through fiscal year 2020, budget documents show.
