National Library Week events

The Children's Department of the Washington County Free Library, 100 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown, will celebrate National Library Week, April 11 to 17.

To coincide with the celebration there will be events each day. On Monday, celebrate author Beverly Cleary's birthday with activities. On Tuesday at 7 p.m., the Hola, Amigos! Storytime will be a Spanish and English celebration of books and libraries.

On Wednesday, children are encouraged to tell the librarians all about their favorite books. On Thursday, children can draw a scene from their favorite book which will be displayed around the Children's Department.

On Friday, winners of the Favorite Book Character Poll will be announced during our Preschool Storytime, which begins at 11 a.m.
