April 14: Battle of Funkstown re-enactment and Day in the Park meeting, fire hall, 6 p.m.

April 14 and 28: Funkstown Lions Club meeting, Beaver Creek Country Club, 6:30 p.m.

April 15, 22, 29 and May 6, 13: Bingo, fire hall, 7 p.m.

April 24: Chicken barbecue, fire hall, 9:30 a.m. until sold out. Beef, ham and Italian sausage sandwiches also will be sold. Fire company fundraiser.

April 24: Double bingo, Funkstown fire hall, Doors open at 4 p.m.; first game at 6 p.m.

April 26: Funkstown mayor and Town Council work session to discuss the budget, and water and sewer enterprise budgets and rates, Town Hall, 6 p.m.

April 30: Toddler story time, Funkstown School for Early Childhood Education, 10 to 10:30 a.m. Go to school office. Open to any preschool-age or younger children from the Funkstown area.


May 2: Longaberger basket bingo, Funkstown fire station, first game at 2 p.m. Being held by the Funkstown Lions Club to benefit the club's community projects and Funkstown school PTA. Costs $20 for 25 games.

May 3: Funkstown town election, Town Hall, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

May 3: Funkstown Volunteer Fire Co. membership meeting, fire hall, 7 p.m.

May 4: Funkstown Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, Town Hall, 6:30 p.m.

May 7 and 8: Funkstown cleanup, Dumpsters at Funkstown Community Park. 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. Must provide proof of residency. For household debris that cannot be set out during regular trash pickup. No hazardous materials.

May 10: Funkstown Senior Citizens meeting, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1 p.m.

May 10: Funkstown town meeting, Town Hall, 7 p.m.

May 30: Memorial Day ceremonies. Wreath laying at Funkstown American Legion at 11 a.m. Dedication of new monument for Korean War and Vietnam War veterans at Monument Park at 11:30 a.m.
