At a March 6 scholarship awards ceremony, John Franklin Hutzell Memorial AMVETS Post 14, Cascade, Commander Dennis J. Wenthe presented annual AMVETS National Americanism and AMVETS Against Drug and Alcohol Abuse Scholarships to Kacee Schindel, of Western Heights Middle School, first-place winner and eighth-grader; and Josie Walling, Maugansville Elementary School, first-place winner and fourth-grader.
Also in attendance was their mother, Shayla Walling.
Both awards were for $200.
