Boy reports being assaulted at Chambersburg playground

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- A 15-year-old boy reported to Chambersburg police on Monday, April 5, that three boys assaulted him at the South Second Street playground, police said in a news release.

Police said the boy suffered a small cut on his hand from a pocketknife swung by the assailants.

Teen boy charged with assault, drug possession in Chambersburg

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- A 15-year-old boy was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after allegedly assaulting Chambersburg Area Senior High School staff on Tuesday.

Chambersburg police said the boy "reacted violently but was subdued" after an assistant principal and security director confronted him about smoking marijuana.

The boy was released to the custody of the Franklin County (Pa.) Juvenile Probation Department.

Police pull over car missing a tire after hit-and-run

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police took a man into custody Sunday morning after stopping a car northeast of Chambersburg that had been involved in a hit and run, according to a news release.


A 1994 Buick Century was heading south on Greenvillage Road around 1:30 a.m. Sunday when it went off the road, into a yard and then over a stop sign at the intersection with U.S. 11 at a chiropractic center, state police said in the release.

After hitting the stop sign, the car turned around and went north on Greenvillage Road, police said. Police stopped the car about one mile north of the crash scene after seeing it heading north slowly. The front tire was gone and the car was being driven on the rim, police said.

Troopers found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the car, according to the news release.

Alcohol and marijuana were factors in the incident, police said.
