CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Chambersburg police have arrested a man they say shot a 19-year-old in the back during a drug-related incident last week.
Darrion Shaffer, 18, of Chambersburg, was charged with criminal attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault, criminal attempted robbery and criminal conspiracy to commit robbery, police said in a news release.
Shaffer was arrested Saturday at the police station on a warrant, police said.
Police allege Shaffer shot Kelby Jon Jones, of Chambersburg, on Thursday in Duke Alley. A friend took Jones to Chambersburg Hospital for treatment of a small-caliber gunshot wound to his lower back, the news release stated.
A 16-year-old described as Shaffer's accomplice was charged with criminal attempted robbery and criminal conspiracy to commit robbery, police said.
The boy was released to the custody of the Franklin County (Pa.) Juvenile Probation Department.
