Parshotam Lal Soni, 90, of Hagerstown, Md., died Friday, April 9, 2010, at Fahrney-Keedy Nursing Home in Boonsboro, Md.

Born Nov. 18, 1919, in India, he was the son of the late Biru Ram and Dhani Soni.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Surjit Kaur Soni, on Aug. 22, 2009.

He served in the Indian Brigade of the British Army.

He was employed by the Indian government with the Civil Service.

He was a member of the Cumberland Valley Indian Association.

He is survived by three daughters, Kamlika Feld of Williamsport, Md., Shashi Beltgens of New Rochelle, N.Y., and Neelam Henderson of Waterford, Va.; two sons, Tejimder Paul Soni of Waldorf, Md., and Anish Soni of Sterling, Va.; 10 grandchildren, Priya Kurtz of Greencastle, Pa., Dawn Orndoff of Waynesboro, Pa., Natalie Haas of Kansas City, Mo., Marco Beltgens of Leesburg, Va., Ben Henderson of Ashburn, Va., Nisha Bunkley of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., Sean and Mark Soni of Waldorf, and Lauren and Mira Soni of Sterling, Va.; and seven great-grandchildren.


Pandit Harish of Leesburg will conduct a Hindu funeral service Monday at 5 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home, Benevolent Fund, 8507 Mapleville Road, Boonsboro, MD 21713.
