The Hagerstown Police Department is seeking a man who attempted to rob Little Caesars Pizza at 420 E. Antietam St. on Saturday morning, according to a police department press release.

Police also are seeking a man who attempted to rob Dollar General at 761 E. Wilson Blvd. on Friday night, according to another police department press release.

In the Little Caesars incident, an employee was shot twice with a BB gun after realizing the suspect was armed, Sgt. Paul Kifer said. The employee sustained minor injuries, Kifer said.

The shooting happened as the employee fled through the store and out the back door to get away from the armed man, Kifer said.

The incident happened about 9:30 a.m. as the employee arrived to open the business, Kifer said. As the employee entered the store, the suspect rushed toward the door and forced his way inside, Kifer said.

The suspect was described as a man in his 20s or 30s, between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall and with brown hair, Kifer said. He was wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt and blue jeans, Kifer said.

The suspect might have been seen running toward Frederick Street, Kifer said.

The Dollar General incident happened Friday just before 9 p.m., Sgt. Rebecca Fetchu said.

Two employees told police that a man approached a cashier in the store and demanded money, but left without any after being confronted by another employee, Fetchu said.

No one was injured and no weapon was displayed, Fetchu said.

Officers searched the immediate area, but were unable to locate the suspect, Fetchu said.
