CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Mrs. Hannah M. (Monn) Scott, 87, a resident of Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chambersburg, Pa. and formerly of 5406 Buchanan Trail East, Waynesboro, Pa. and 5335 Walck Ave., Marion, Pa., passed away at 8:25 a.m., Friday, April 9, 2010, at the nursing home.

Born April 8, 1923, in the Tomstown area of Washington Township, Franklin County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late David L. and Hazel (Harbaugh) Monn.

She and her husband, the late Mr. Norman A. "Pappy" Scott, were married April 24, 1943. They spent most of their married life in the Greencastle, Pa. area before moving to their Buchanan Trail East address in 1982. He died July 27, 2005. She entered the nursing home in February 2009.

Mrs. Scott was employed by Stanley Co., Chambersburg, Baer Packing of Greencastle and was last employed part-time in the cafeteria by Greencastle School District.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Marion, where she was a member of the Win One Sunday School Class. She also was a member of National AARP.

Mrs. Scott is survived by four children, Norman E. (wife Connie) Scott of Smithsburg, Md., Ruby A. (husband Gary) Gossard of Williamson, Pa., Allen B. (wife Ellen) Scott of Waynesboro and Douglas W. (wife Doris) Scott of Marion; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Anna Ebersole of Waynesboro, Molly Stotler of Hagerstown, Md., Lois Heckman of Chambersburg and Vivian Wagaman of Zullinger, Pa.; seven brothers, Dennis Monn of Hagerstown, Harry Monn of Martinsburg, W.Va., Frank Monn of Waynesboro, Ronald Monn of Mercersburg, Pa., Stanley Monn of Ashland, Ky., and Lawrence Monn and Nevin Monn, both of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Nettie Marie Monn, Rosie Kay Monn and Alice M. Smith; and four brothers, Alvin Monn, Robert Roy Monn, David Monn and Daniel L. Monn.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 12, 2010, at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Pastor Chris E. Renner officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
