WILLIAMSPORT - Charles William Litten, 76, of Williamsport, Md., died Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, Md.

Born June 6, 1933, in Williamsport, Md., he was the son of the late Paul Franklin and Georgia Frances Litten.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Marlene Meyers Mitchell Litten, in 2007.

He was a 1951 graduate of Williamsport High School.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War.

He was employed as a manager with Pepsi-Cola of Williamsport, Md., for 43 years, until retiring in 1995.

He was a member of Reboboth United Methodist Church, Williamsport, Md. He was a member of the choir, the administrative board of trustees and various committees.


He was a member of Potomac Post 202 American Legion, Williamsport, Md., Washington County 50 and over Softball League, Southside Senior Bowling League and IORM Conococheague Tribe 84, Williamsport, Md.

Survivors include daughter, Tina M. Hartman of Hedgesville, W.Va.; daughter, Jeanne L. Litten of Hagerstown, Md.; daughter, Carol J. Haupt of Hagerstown, Md.; daughter, Cathy D. Fleagle of Rouzerville, Pa.; son, Gregory W. Litten of Felton, Del.; son, Donald G. Litten of Hagerstown, Md.; son, Ronald A. Litten of Concord, Va.; son, Jack E. Mitchell Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.; son, Curtis W. Mitchell of Boonsboro, Md.; sister, Eileen E. Plotner of Fayetteville, Pa.; brother, Robert S. Litten of Fairplay, Md.; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by one brother, Carl F. Litten, and two granddaughters, Brianna P. Gossard and Melody Robinson.

The family will receive friends at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, Md., on Sunday, April 11, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral home will be open after 1 p.m. Sunday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, Md., on Monday, April 12, 2010, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Dr. James E. Swecker officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport, Md. Military graveside services will be provided by American Legion Morris Frock Post 42, Hagerstown, Md.
