A. Donald Kridler Sr., 87, of 204 Rock Willow Ave., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Dec. 11, 1922, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Charles B.R. (Jim) Kridler and M. Lucille Foltz Kridler.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Anna Louise Longnecker Kridler, in 2009.

He was a member of First Christian Church; a member and past commander, from 1987 through 1988, of W.D. Byron Post 1936 VFW; a member of Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion and Washington County AMVETS Post 10; and a life member of the National Rifle Association and Izaak Walton League.


He is survived by a son, A. Donald Kridler Jr. of Hagerstown; one granddaughter; three great-grandsons; and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Sue Balick, and a brother, Parvin Kridler.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2010, at Rose Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Nancy J. Jenkins will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home one hour before the service Friday.
