TOPS 462 Chapter has no-gain week

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 462 in Smithsburg had a no-gain week at its last meeting.

Each member came in with a loss. John was the biggest loser for the week.

With a good eating plan and exercise, the chapter hopes to have more no-gain weeks in the future.

Chapter members traveled to Baltimore a week ago to attend the Maryland/D.C. State Recognition Days where TOPS members from all over the state and D.C. gathered to celebrate. The biggest success losses were recognized and the state king and queen were crowned for losing the most weight to reach their goals.

John and Mack, both veterans, were in the flag-carrying honor guard for Saturday's session. John, Mack and Ola were each honored for being officers in the chapter. Mack was also honored for having a perfect resume for weight charts.

The TOPS chapter, a nonprofit weight loss support group, meets Thursdays at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 51 S. Main St. in Smithsburg. Kiwanis Travelogue Series set for April 21

The Kiwanis Club of Hagerstown concludes its 35th season of the Travelogue Series with a visit to "Wales: Land of Song," on Wednesday, April 21. The program at South Hagerstown High School auditorium begins at 7:30 p.m.

The presenters will be Monte and Marsha Brown.

Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for students.

Proceeds help the club support charities in Washington County.
