Hubs rout Frederick 20-0 in softball

FREDERICK, Md. -- Allysen Breeden had two doubles and four RBIs and Amanda Fiery had three hits and three RBIs for North Hagerstown in a 20-0, five-inning rout of Frederick on Tuesday.

Ragan Shaw had two hits, including a three-run triple for the Hubs (2-4), while Lindsay Irving had three hits and two RBIs, Shanan Plunkett added three hits and Faith Ricker had two hits.

Winning pitcher Rachel Thomas allowed just one hit and struck out four in a complete-game effort.

McConnellsburg 13, Forbes Road 2

HUSTONTOWN, Pa. -- Alexus Mellott had two hits and three RBIs and also pitched a four-hitter to pace McConnellsburg to a six-inning rout of Forbes Road.

Lisa Deshong and Nicki McQuade had two hits each, while Sam McQuade drove in three runs for the Spartans (1-2).

INWOOD, W.Va. -- Amanda Sandford went 3-for-4 with four RBIs to back a strong outing from starting pitcher Savannah Williams, and Hedgesville cruised to a win over Musselman (6-3).

Courtney Layhew doubled twice and Williams pitched all seven innings, giving up just one hit for the Eagles (9-4).

Gabe Hirsch had three hits to lead the Lions past the Eagles at the Hagerstown Colt League field.

Zack Snodderly had two hits and two RBIs, and Donnie Fritz homered for Broadfording (2-2), which built an 8-2 lead through the top of the fifth inning.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- With the game tied 6-6, Jefferson's Major Dodson hit a game-winning RBI single with no outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning at the Mingo Bay Classic.

Dillon Regalia had three hits, including a solo home run, for Jefferson (8-2), which has won six straight. John Patrick Jones and Zach Lambert each added two hits.

Patrick Carter (2-0) pitched 1 1/3 innings of relief for the win.
