Franklin County teen charged with aggravated assault

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police have charged a teenager as an adult in an incident that involved several aerosol cans and a fire extinguisher.

Seville Scott Brown, 17, of 1471 Mountain Shadow Terrace, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and reckless endangerment in the incident that police said occurred Saturday at 11:48 p.m.

The victim was identified as Daniel Raymond Gelwicks, 53, of the same address.

Police said the oven at a house in Greene Township was turned on and six aerosol cans were placed inside. Two more aerosol cans were placed in a lighted gas grill on the back porch, police said.

Brown was in Franklin County Jail on $100,000 bond, a jail official said Monday.

Firefighters called to mobile home fire in Fannettsburg, Pa., area

FANNETTSBURG, Pa. -- Firefighters responded to a mobile home fire in the 17600 block of Oak Avenue in a trailer park near Mountain Lake early Tuesday, according to Franklin County 911.


No injuries were reported, a 911 dispatcher said.

The mobile home fire, reported at 3:59 a.m. Tuesday, was in a trailer park that used to be a campground, a 911 dispatcher said.

Fannettsburg is east of the county line with Fulton and Huntingdon counties. Oak Avenue is near the intersection of Fannettsburg Road and Pa. 75.

Person threatened to jump from I-81 overpass near State Line, Pa.

STATE LINE, Pa. -- State police from Pennsylvania and Maryland responded to a call for a person threatening to jump off an overpass over Interstate 81 near State Line early Tuesday, Maryland State Police said.

The person did not jump, Maryland State Police said.

The call came in at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday, according to Franklin County 911.
