Motorcyclist killed in New Market crash

NEW MARKET, Md. -- A 73-year-old Union Bridge, Md., man was killed Monday morning when the Harley-Davidson motorcycle he was riding collided with a 2007 Mercedes at the intersection of U.S. 75 and Old New Market Road, according to Maryland State Police.

Carroll Codwise Miller suffered severe head injuries in the 10:39 a.m. crash and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Miller was traveling south on U.S. 75 when the Mercedes, being driven by David Jeffery Green, turned from the northbound lane of U.S. 75 on to Old New Market Road, police said.

Miller's motorcycle hit the passenger side of the Mercedes, police said.

Green was treated at the scene for minor cuts, police said.

An investigation was continuing, police said.
