Two charged with shooting into car

April 04, 2010

A Smithsburg man and a Hagerstown man have been charged in connection with gun shots being fired into a car Saturday afternoon on Poplar Grove Road, a Washington County Sheriff's Office spokesman said Sunday.

Ronald Eugene Fauble, 29, of West Water Street in Smithsburg, and Nicholas Patrick Purcell, 30, of View Street in Hagerstown, have each been charged with two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and malicious destruction of property, said Lt. Tim Baker.

Fauble was being held in the Washington County Detention Center Sunday on $305,000 bond and Purcell is free on a public recognizance bond, Baker said.

Baker said the shooting was related to a domestic dispute between Fauble and his estranged girlfriend, who was at the Poplar Grove Road house.
