Catherine Eva Reed Long, 82, of 605 Sunset Ave., Hagerstown, Md., died Friday, April 2, 2010, at Washington County Hospital. When she passed, she was surrounded by her loving family. She loved her family very much.
Born July 12, 1927, in Washington County, Md., she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Cleveland and Christianna Everett Prevost.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Homer Leon Reed.
She was a former volunteer at Washington County Hospital Auxiliary, and at the Red Cross Center at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
She was a longtime member of Salem United Methodist Church, and loved her church family.
She is survived by her second husband, Frederick C. Long; three daughters, Carol Burger and husband, Wayne, of Keedysville, Md., Susan Grimm and her husband, John, of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Peggy Wade and her fianc, Bill Loshbaugh, of Hagerstown; two sons, Michael Reed and wife, Kimberly, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Mark T. Reed and wife, Karen, of Berkeley Springs; one brother, Howard Prevost of Berkeley Springs; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
