Easter play set for Sunday

Zion Assembly of God, at 13814 Village Mill Drive in Maugansville, will hold an Easter play Sunday titled "Who is This Jesus?"

Fellowship and refreshments will start at 9 a.m. and the Sunday service and play will begin at 10.

Women's Club plans activities

There will be a cooking class at the Women's Club Thursday, April 15, at 7 p.m. at 31 S. Prospect St. in Hagerstown.

Chef Francis Verdier, of Applause Catering/Academy Theatre, will give a cooking demonstration featuring an appetizer, salad and dessert.

Tickets cost $12. Reservations can be made by calling the club at 301-739-0870.

Samples will be available for all participants.

The Women's Club will hold a benefit card party for Holly Place Wednesday, April 21, at noon at the club. Tickets cost $12 and includes lunch. Reservations can be made by calling the club at 301-739-0870


Crossroads Garden Club is sponsoring two bus trips.

The group will go to the Hillwood in Washington, D.C., April 22. This is the home and gardens of Marjorie Merriweather Post.

The second trip is to Market Day at Cylburn Arboretum in Baltimore on May 8.

Softball for seniors

The Washington County Senior Softball League will hold practice and registration from April 5 to April 22 each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at the City Park ball fields at 5:30 p.m. The league is open to those 50 and older. For more information, call John Hawbaker at 304-274-0184.
