Fashion show set for this evening



An "Evening of Fashion" will be held tonight at 9 at the Georgia Boy Caf at Park Circle, 325 Virginia Ave.

The hosts, the coordinators of the For Our Kids Sake program, are planning an evening of fashions, food and music by DJ Tracey.

Door prizes will be available.

Proceeds will go to the For Our Kids Sake annual summer trip to an amusement park.

Prayer breakfast to be held April 10



A Women's Day prayer breakfast will be held Saturday, April 10, at 9 a.m. at Zion Baptist Church, 61 W. Bethel St., Hagerstown.

The theme is "Women on One Accord."

The guest speaker will be first lady Rose Smith, wife of the new pastor, the Rev. Rickey A. Smith Sr.

Health expo planned



The Washington County Health Department, at 1302 Pennsylvania Ave. in Hagerstown, will hold a health expo Saturday, April 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will be free screenings and car safety seat checks.

There will also be health-related information booths.

Free food will be provided by Antietam Ironworks (while supplies last.)

Lunch planned



On Saturday, April 10, West Side Church will host a free soup and sandwich lunch at Bethel Gardens Community Center, 356 Henry St. in Hagerstown, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The public is invited.

NAACP to meet April 8

The Washington County NAACP will meet Thursday, April 8, at 7 p.m. at Memorial Recreation Center, 109 W. North Ave.

Movie night



If you didn't get a chance to catch it at the movies, the Central Library, 100 S. Potomac St., will show "Princess & the Frog" on Friday, April 9, at 7 p.m.

The movie will be held in the B/C meeting room. Use the back parking lot entrance.

Free popcorn will be available.

Walking program to kick off April 12



Activities for Life Walking and Fitness will hold its kickoff to the walking season Monday, April 12, starting at 6 p.m. at Fairgrounds Park in Hagerstown.

All fitness levels are welcome.

The group is also planning a trip to the Bahamas.

Brunch to be held Saturday



A brunch will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Greater Campher Temple, 125 Bethel St. in Hagerstown.

It is sponsored by the Pastor's Aide Committee. Elder Darin Mency is pastor.

The menu includes fried potatoes and onions, scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, pancakes, coffee and orange juice.

Breakfast costs $6.
