Fairlie Stirling Evason (nee Jamieson) passed away quietly Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at her home in Hagerstown, Md.

Fay was born Jan. 7, 1936, in Hawick, Scotland, the youngest of a family of seven sisters and two brothers.

She came to Canada in 1959, where she met and married Don, her husband of 48 years, in Vancouver, British Columbia.

She leaves to mourn two sons, David at home and Mark of Pittsburgh, Pa.; one daughter, Catherine of Parkton, Md.; four grandchildren; and 10 nieces and nephews.

Fay was employed by the Washington County Health Department as an addictions counselor for 24 years.

Fay was well loved by her many colleagues and friends, who supported her during her lengthy illness.

She will be missed.

A memorial service will be Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Greg Meserole presiding.
