December 27, 2009

BUNKER HILL, W.Va. -- A 48-year-old woman who was carried from a burning town house south of Inwood, W.Va., early Thursday remained in critical condition Sunday night at University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Patricia "Pat" Miller, 48, apparently was asleep in the living room of her two-story home at 15 Creedmore Drive in Bunker Hill when the fire broke out, police said.

Two men carried Miller from the town house after they saw the flames, officials said.

Officials said previously they had narrowed the cause of the fire down to some wiring and smoking material.

Cigarette butts were found at the scene, officials said.
