Private Clint Billman, son of Teresa Billman and the late Adam Billman, is in the Army National Guard and graduated from basic training Dec. 4. He is in AIT training and will graduate Feb. 22.

His wife is Olga Billman, and his grandparents are Charles and Verda Phetteplace. His brothers are Jack and Brandon Billman.

Navy Seaman Recruit Matthew L. Mead, a 2005 graduate of Martinsburg (W.Va.) High School, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Army National Guard Spec. Justin C. Martz, son of Douglas M. Martz of McConnellsburg, Pa., and Kathy R. Neuder of Chambersburg, Pa., returned to the U.S. after being deployed overseas at a forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Operation Iraqi Freedom is the official name given to military operations involving members of the U.S. armed forces and coalition forces participating in efforts to free and secure Iraq. Mission objectives focus on force protection, peacekeeping, stabilization, security and counterinsurgency operations as the Iraqi transitional governing bodies assume full sovereign powers to govern the peoples of Iraq.

Martz, a wheeled vehicle mechanic, is a member of the Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 2nd Squadron, 104th Cavalry, Reading, Pa. He has served in the military for four years.

His wife, Patricia, is the daughter of Belle T. Muia of Grafton Lane, Williamsport.

Army Pfc. Joshua C. Bishop, son of Gerald S. Bishop of Clear Spring, returned to the U.S. after being deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

He is regularly assigned to the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry, Fort Wainwright, Fairbanks, Ala.

Army National Guard Pvt. Jeff A. Savage Jr., son of Jerri Savage of Clear Spring and brother of Rebecca Carl of Hagerstown, graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

Savage is a 1999 grad- uate of Williamsport High School.

Army Reserves PFC Jonah E. Rock, 18, son of Robert and Caroline Rock of Hagerstown, graduated from nine weeks of Basic Combat Training and 10 weeks of Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., on Dec. 10. He earned the distinction of being an honor graduate for his platoon. He earned expert qualification on the M-16, was top gun in his company and served as Guidon Bearer for his platoon.

Rock is stationed in Cresaptown, Md., with the 372nd Military Police Co.

Navy Seaman Daniel J. Lyons, a 2006 graduate of Frederick (Md.) High School, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Navy Reserve Seaman Daniel R. Dye, son of Debbie S. and Timothy R. Dye of Frederick, Md., recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Dye is a 2003 graduate of Gov. Thomas Johnson High School in Frederick and a 2007 graduate of Frostburg (Md.) State University with a bachelor of science degree.

Civilian Joseph Pasquarello II, son of Crystal D. and Thomas J. Pasquarello of Greencastle, Pa., recently enlisted in the U.S. Navy under the Delayed Entry Program at Navy Recruiting District, Pittsburgh.

Pasquarello will report for active duty to undergo basic training at the Navy's Recruit Training Center, Great Lakes, Ill.

Air Force Airman Trevor J.L. Neff graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

He completed an eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

He is the son of Marie Neff of East Mary St., Cumberland, Md., and David Neff of Black Rock Road, Hagerstown.

Neff is a 2006 graduate of Fort Hill High School, Cumberland.

Air Force Airman Christian N. Barlow graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

He completed an eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

He is the son of Michael Barlow of Breezewood Drive, Hagerstown, and Angela Scolforo of Jefferson Mill Road, Scottsville, Va.

Barlow is a 2009 graduate of Smithsburg High School.
