o "I haven't even started shopping nor will I. I haven't even set foot in a store, other than a grocery store. I can't spend money I don't have. My bills have to come first. It will be the first year that I never bought anything for Christmas. Not even for my children. No decoration or tree will be put up. It will be like any other day. Expect we'll have a nice ham dinner. I'll be glad when the day comes and goes."

o "Several families in our neighborhood gather toys for families that are less fortunate, as well as Christmas dinners, including all the trimmings. It is amazing how much you can accumulate for giving when there are several families willing to sponsor others."

o "My shopping was done weeks ago. We have decided to give the gift of labor to members of the family like painting, cleaning, organizing and repairing. The older children will participate. The older children will receive money and the younger children a few toys. It's about a family get-together - we play games and have a nice meal in which everyone donates something. We are still employed this year, so we count our blessings."

o "Interesting politically correct question - 'holiday shopping.' My family doesn't do holiday shopping, but we have completed our Christmas shopping."

o "Family is the most important part of Christmas to me. Being with them far outweighs the material aspect of it all. Merry Christmas!"

o "I began and completed my Christmas shopping the first weekend of December. Merry Christmas to all!"
