HAGERSTOWN --Â The Greater Hagerstown Committee said Tuesday that Executive Director Art Callaham will retire Sept. 1, 2010.
Callaham has been executive director since 1998. He took the job when Fort Ritchie, where he worked for 21 years, was targeted for closure.
The nonprofit Greater Hagerstown Committee -- community leaders who work privately on local issues -- is searching nationally for a new executive director, the organization said in a news release.
The committee expects to hire someone in July, so the new person can work for a month or two with Callaham before he leaves.
