Shenandoah Community Health

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Richard J. Mier, M.D., MPH, FAAP, FACR, recently joined the staff of Shenandoah Community Health.

Mier, a board-certified pediatrician for the past 30 years, has subspecialty certification in pediatric rheumatology and holds a master of public health from the University of Kentucky. He completed residencies at Strong Memorial Hospital, the University of Rochester and Children's National Medical Center.

Before joining Shenandoah Community Health, Mier served as a staff pediatrician at Centro Medico Hombro a Hombro in Santo Domingo, Ecuador.

Mier also served as director of pediatric services at Shriners Hospital for Children, director of the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Kentucky, and medical director at the National Children's Center. He also has served in private pediatric practice.


Camp Joy El

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Steve Rice recently was promoted to director of camping programs at Camp Joy El.

Rice, who joined Joy El Ministries in January 2008, previously served as Camp Joy El's program coordinator.

Rice's experience includes serving in programming at Lake Ann Camp in Michigan and Hume Lake Christian Camp in California.

Rice holds a bachelor's degree in youth ministry and Bible with a minor in camping and sports ministry. He also completed a master's level internship at Lake Ann Camp and attended the Focus on the Family Institute in the fall of 2003.

The Home Depot

Steve Hetzer, an associate for The Home Depot on Garland Groh Boulevard, has been named a national Home Depot Legend.

Hetzer, who works in the garden and lumber departments, was recognized as a Legend for pushing a customer through the store in a wheelchair for more than an hour when the store's electric scooter was not available.

Only one of the company's 300,000-plus associates receives the Legend designation each week.

Tyler Geesaman recently joined the staff of Total Fitness Specialists Inc.

Geesaman graduated from Shippensburg (Pa.) with a bachelor of science, majoring in exercise science and minoring in biology. He holds a personal training certification through the National Strength & Conditioning Association, and completed his professional internship in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department at Washington Country Hospital.

Also, Lew Howard recently was honored for being a personal trainer with Total Fitness Specialists for 11 years. His certifications include master fitness trainer, cardiac rehabilitation and nutrition.

Franklin County ENT

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Anna Grigoryeva, M.D., recently joined the practice of Franklin County ENT in the Summit Keystone Pavilion in Chambersburg.

Grigoryeva earned her medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine, and completed both her internship and residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C.

Tower Bank

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Linda Davis recently was named assistant vice president/market manager for the Maryland region of Tower Bank.

As market manager, Davis will be responsible for the execution and coordination of all branch sales and deposit growth to include small-business development, partnership banking presentations and proactive consultative selling. She also will handle the development and implementation of the branch sales plan to effectively gain and expand customer relationships by providing uncompromising customer service.

Davis, a resident of Williamsport, has more than 40 years of banking experience. She most recently served as an assistant vice president/branch manager at Sovereign Bank in Hagerstown.

Davis has completed several banking courses through the Maryland Bankers Association.

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Jean Rosenberger and Darrell Morgan of the Waynesboro office of Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA were recognized for excellent performance in November.

The decision was based on the number of new listings, sales and referrals; attendance at real estate meetings and workshops; and customer satisfaction reports.

Reed, Wertz and Roadman

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Sean A. Forney has joined the staff of Reed, Wertz and Roadman, an insurance and financial planning group headquartered in Bedford, Pa.

Forney will concentrate on commercial and property insurance lines in Washington County and Berkeley and Morgan counties in West Virginia.

Forney obtained his property and casualty insurance license in January and is pursuing certification as a worker's compensation adviser.

Forney is a 2004 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School and attended Hagerstown Community College.

Frederick County Business Development Advisory Council

FREDERICK, Md. - Mike Kidder recently was appointed chairman and Veronica Mozzano was appointed vice chairman of the Frederick County Business Development Advisory Council.

Kidder is employed by Bechtel Corp.'s communications staff and manages outreach activities in the Frederick area.

Mozzano is executive vice president and chief lending officer at Woodsboro Bank in Frederick.
