CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. -- A naked man ran through the Huntfield development Thursday after Charles Town Police Department officers responded to a house for a trespassing complaint, according to court records.

Jamar Deshawn Washington, 18, of 821 N. Mildred St., Ranson, W.Va., who faces indecent exposure, fleeing on foot and other charges, was apprehended in the Augustine Avenue area, according to Jefferson County Magistrate Court records.

Patrolman J.W. Newlin said in a criminal complaint that he responded to a house in the 300 block of Bullskin Street for a trespassing complaint.

After arriving at the house, Newlin said he was told by a man that Washington was sleeping in the basement under his daughter's bed.

Newlin and another officer went downstairs and the other officer observed Washington sitting naked in a fetal position in a storage room.

Washington walked past the two officers, allegedly threw his elbow into the girl's father and fled out a door, Newlin said.

Washington ran across the street and through the yard of an adjacent residence, Newlin said.

Newlin ordered Washington to stop, but Washington continued to run to Braddock Street and then into a wooded area, court records said. Officers lost sight of Washington, but they were later told that a naked man had been spotted near an old radio station near Vinton Lane.

After being apprehended, Washington refused medical treatment for cuts on his feet and legs, Newlin said.
