Pamela Ann "Sweet P" Sager, 56, of Hagerstown, was taken by her angel to be in the presence of God from her home at 9 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 14, 2009.

Born Sept. 25, 1953, in Lebanon, Pa., she was the daughter of Irene Elizabeth Smith Pryor of Hagerstown and the late Earl Richard Pryor.

She graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 1971 and in 1976 as a graduate of Salisbury State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work, where she was a member of Phi Beta Gamma Society.


She was employed in the field of social work for 30 years including for the Washington County Commission on Aging and United Cerebral Palsy in Hagerstown.

She is survived by her husband, former Mayor Steven T. Sager; a daughter, Jody Abbott of Alton, Ill.; a son, Jason Abbott of Godfrey, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Rebecca Sager of Boston, Mass., and Elizabeth Sager of Hagerstown; a sister, Nan Foust and husband, Ron, of Waynesboro, Pa.; and two lovely young granddaughters and several beloved aunts and uncles.

An animal lover throughout her life, her most special pets were her longtime companion, cat, Zeph; and her lovable little dog, Max.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
