Pa. woman charged with forging 27 checks

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - A McConnellsburg, Pa., woman has been charged with 27 counts of forgery, 26 counts of theft by deception and other charges after 26 forged checks were passed at Jane's Market on Loudoun Road in Mercersburg, the Mercersburg Police Department said Wednesday.

Kayla Caroline Frisby, 21, of 122 W. Walnut St. was charged, according to a news release from the police department .

Frisby allegedly took two blank check books from a Mercersburg woman about Sept. 27, the release said.

In addition to the forged checks passed at Jane's Market, Frisby tried to pass another forged check on Oct. 9 at the M&T Bank on North Main Street in Mercersburg, the release said.
