Hagerstown Tea Party members attend Code Red Rally

December 15, 2009

A group of 44 people representing the Hagerstown Tea Party attended Tuesday's Code Red Rally in Washington, D.C.

The group left Tuesday morning from Valley Mall for the U.S. Capitol, wearing red hats, red jackets and red scarves, as suggested by event organizers.

The rally focused on the Obama administration's health care reform legislation. The goal of the gathering was to tell the U.S. Senate, which currently is debating a bill that in another form has passed the House, that some Americans are not happy with what they are hearing about the Senate version.

Speakers at the event included Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., U.S. Rep. Michelle Bachmann, R-Minn., and talk show host Laura Ingraham.
