Faith's Deneseus has 34 points, 20 rebounds in victory

Nicole Deneseus had 34 points, including 13 in the fourth quarter, and 20 rebounds to lead Faith Christian to a 57-42 Mason Dixon Christian Conference victory over Grace Academy on Tuesday night.

The Falcons upped their full-court defensive pressure and outscored the Knights 28-16 in the final quarter.

Deneseus was 16 of 18 from the field for the Falcons (2-5, 1-2), while Jackie Solenberger flirted with a triple-double with eight points, 10 rebounds and nine assists.

Tori Aikens led the Knights (0-5, 0-3) with 14 points, while Kelsey Koontz added nine points and 17 rebounds.

SMITHSBURG -- Elisa Owens scored a game-high 16 points to lead Smithsburg past Brunswick in the MVAL Antietam.

Katie Sprecher had 11 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals, and Emily Hargreaves had 10 points, five assists and four steals for the Leopards (3-1, 1-0).

Smithsburg outscored Brunswick (1-3, 0-1) 34-13 in the first half.

STEPHENS CITY, Va. -- Nichole Henderson had 15 points and six steals to lead Musselman (1-1) in a loss to Sherando (3-1).

Musselman surged back from being down 18 in the fourth quarter and cut the deficit to two with just more than a minute left in regulation. The Applemen missed multiple attempts to tie the game in the final minute before Sherando scored to extend its lead to four points.

Kali Miller had eight points and six rebounds and Meghan Stambaugh had six rebounds and six steals for the Applemen.
